There’s nothing like music performed by a traditional Ceildh band to make your party go with a bang. You don’t even need to be Scottish or Irish to appreciate the fantastic music these bands can play. To ensure an excellent atmosphere and folks dancing all night you really need a Ceilidh band to come and play at your special event. There are of course other styles of music group which you might want to use but is a jazz band really going to generate the same atmosphere? Ceilidh bands play traditional country music for people to get up and dance to along with some songs, jokes and storytelling mixed in for good measure. While Ceili bands are firmly rooted in the Celtic tradition, barn dance bands and Hoedown bands come from the other side of the pond. However there are numerous similarities between the two with both of them based upon largely traditional music with a caller calling the steps. A ceili or a hoedown is a great way of raising money for charity or simply to have a fun night with your friends and relations. You could have one anyplace where there’s adequate room for a group and a dancefloor so church halls, hotels or even marquees are excellent places. Callers bands as well as wedding ceilidh bands will provide their PA system and caller so all you need to do is get a suitable location and fill it with your friends and family and have a thrilling time.
